3 X 3 Fall League overview

The HD Basketball 3x3 League is a fast-paced, four-week competition designed to challenge student-athletes in a dynamic 3-on-3 format. With no coaches on the court, teams build chemistry through more ball touches, quicker decision-making and increased fitness demands compared to traditional 5-on-5 play. The fall season—running from September 22 to October 13—is the perfect time to step out of your comfort zone, have fun with friends and sharpen your skills under USA Basketball and FIBA rules.

Key Details

  • Duration: 4 weeks (September 22 – October 13)

  • Schedule: Weeks 1–3: League play; Week 4: Tournament finals

  • Commitment: 4 games per night, 1 hour time slot

  • Shot Clock: 12 seconds

  • Game Format: First to 21 points or 10 minutes

  • Scoring:

    • Inside arc & free throws: 1 point

    • Outside arc: 2 points
